Beta 6 now out and beta 7 promissed.

We had fantasized by the new year but now hoping for January. When do you think?

I have no plans to move away from 1.5 until I have to but I'd imagine February/March for 2.1.

Assuming a couple of RC releases will also be made after the betas, that will easily take us to February and probably March.

I say, get on with it, so the add-on and style developers don't have any excuses for continuing to drag their feet!

We don't see a huge benefit to going to 2.1. But the unsupported add-ons, and soon to be unsupported 1.5, have got us ready to make the leap a lot sooner than we had anticipated. We will skip 2.0 as that seems to add only a hassle of a layover to 2.1.

Probably some time in March after a couple of RC's

The same goes for my forum. Addons for 1.5 seem to be abandoned very quickly and some interesting new things (XPress, XWiki...) are only available for 2.0, soon 2.1. I plan the complete relaunch of my website from 1.5 to 2.1 and at the same time the migration of MediaWiki and the old pages of my site for the summer. Hopefully all the developers of my needed addons will follow quickly enough.

I think it will be mid Feb. I see a couple more betas and an RC. Right now there aren't a ton of bugs coming through. I think we'll see a bump on RC and stable just because there will be so many people using it.

That actually means the next version could be beta 7 or release candidate 1. It depends. We’ve made some fairly big changes since beta 6 so it may end up being beta 7 while we let those bed in and then release candidate 1.

There’s actually a surprising number trying it out already according to our stats (the beta versions). Not certain we’ll see a massive increase, and if we do, most bugs will be minor/edge cases at this point.

Is anyone here running XF 2.1 live yet? Links to live sites would be nice.

I'm running it since Beta 5 with 18 addons (fresh install / new forum).
    Link is private sorry.

    Nice Chris DChris D !!

I’m curious too who else is running 2.1 on an established site. Tempted to make the leap now...

My membership and crew are quite pleased, and props to the highly professional and very reasonably priced mysiteguymysiteguy for his work in implementing the migration away from vB4. Great job, highly recommended.

Yep, running it on my astrophotraphy site. Only add-on that I was worried about was ShowCase, but Bob let me know it should be running fine, just not able to use some of the newer stuff like reactions.
The site is not busy as this has a very narrow targeted group.

Edited with strikeout for not being able to use some of the newer stuff like reactions.
