XenForo 2.0.0 & Add-ons Released
28 November 2017
They've done a great job. Congrats to the xenforo team
Damn... Seems really quick. Very cool and grants to team XF
Contemplating on upgrading one of my XF's just to see what it's like...
Thats awesome, I am moving and I would need money for a new skin and plugins and forum icon graphics. So I have to wait until some time after I move. On the the plus side of things 24 days until I move.
One of my sites could live for a while without its mods... Not sure I want to make users stick with the default style though...
Russ & Steve - impatiently waiting!
Recoloring the default theme to fit your site's visual identity could do the trick for now. Themes would have to be remade anyway.
Potentially quite an expensive upgrade then, unless you have a fairly default site.
(That's assuming you have to pay for a new compatible custom style, and replacement addons)
It varies from developer to developer. Some developers are doing free upgrades, some developers are doing totally new purchases (though at the same time adding more value or changing the original product), some doing discounted purchases for existing users, and some developers already have a method in place to manage licenses / renewals and will cover it under that.
UI.X 2 by ThemeHouse, for example, is 50% off for existing customers, but with it being a ground up rewrite, that's not really unreasonable.
I will wait to.
That is because I am waiting for Arty from Artodia with his new framwework, to use the existing Elegance styles in XF-2.0
That will also give me time, to see if existing add-ons will be replaced with new ones.
At Pixel Exit we have decided to allow free upgrades to our XF 2 line of styles so long as users have active licenses. Not all styles are being converted to XF 2.0 though we are going to offer a substantial discount to those that wish to purchase a new style that already own one of those not being converted.
Great work btw on XF 2.0, it's quite the beast but once you get into it you can see the hard work you guys put into it for us all to expand upon it. The color palette is still a little difficult to get used to but the use of "intensify, diminish and contrast" help quite a bit.
Should be good!
But damn, this is going to be hard on my PayPal.
Sometime between now and 2018, probably closer to the now
no plan for discount sale? really interesting to buy it
Are there any big forums that have upgraded to XF2 this soon? I just want to see what it looks like in real world use.
Thats what I am going to do is recolor the default theme for now. I am in the process of backing up my website incase anything goes bad. That way I can just restore it from the backup.
I upgraded to Xenforo 2, I modded the stock skin until Pixel Exit come out with new themes.
