I forgot that Paypal doesn't allow such activity and they have banned me and frozen my account. What are my other online options that don't take a big percentage of the original amount?

FYI, it's mainly a celebrity forum but does have some adult content but no adult/porn movies.

There's Stripe and Amazon Pay. They're popular, trusted and extensible, so more likely to be used if Paypal's not for you. However direct payments with credit/debit cards might work the smoothest.

Whichever you go with, you might want to consider allowing users to make big 'advance' payments yet to be consumed for whatever paid services you offer (think of it as instore credit balance - you save on transaction fees and secure a higher total amount of money upfront). If donations are modest, this will preserve a bigger share of transactions.

Thanks, I can't use Paypal period. Credit and debit cards are what I need to accept. I have never heard of either of those. The donations range from $5 to $20 but average about $10. That's why I need something with low fees.

Do either of those have links you can put in the forum? Or is it I just give them an email or the account info?

Many forum scripts can process payments (for donations or purchasing paid subscriptions - 1-off or autorenewing). What is your forum running on ?

Bitcoin cash could be an option.

To be honest. I'm not sure. I'm using vbullettin 4.2.0. if that helps. I'm not tech savvy to be honest. I looked at Amazon and stripe. Also did some Googling but most things come up are for nonprofit so I can't use them. The other things I found were like Razoo and Fundly but not real comfortable with that type. That's to much personal info out there about me for my comfort zone. The same with Stripe. I don't care if they have my real name and one of my emails but certainly not my address, etc.

Looking at Stripe registration, it asks what I'm selling. I'm not selling anything. I'm not a business and don't want to do anything illegal either.

Thoughts? (and not going to use bitcoin unless it's bundled in with other payment options)

If your site software can't accomodate your need for funding, the only remaining alternative I see viable would be Patreon. IMO it's a more viable model than 1-off donations of any size. Websites need a stable source of funding, not irregular money injections since you cant plan

Anyone could contribute as little and as often as they wish, and you could manually grant perks on the forums to the biggest donors. You only need to be able to cash out the funds every month (to a card, bank or paypal account). Donors are not limited in the types of campaigns they support this way.

Thanks, I looked into it. It may be possible but would have to 'fudge' creations. I say that because I don't create any 'projects.

I sent an email to Stripe as that would be my first choice. I was honest and told them what I have and what I wanted and they politely said no. Again, cause of nudity.

So I may have to look into Bitcoin or start taking adds. I can't believe it's this hard just to get money from people who want to give it to me online.

If you hint payment services are meant to specifically trade for porn content rather than supporting your website building effort (regardless of the content), their response is expected. Exchanging money doesnt require a reason being made explicit and those services dont actually care.

So if I wait a bit, do you think I could use them? I just sent a general email to the sales department, they won't remember me.

    I'll look into that.

    What about this? https://epoch.com/

Well, we did a very similar thing and ended up in the same boat. I then invested (considerably) and had a custom add-on developed to co-exist with another one, with a bank/merchant in the US to handle the same thing and allow user upgrades.
It depends if you feel you will get the money back, speculate to accumulate. Epoch are ideal for what you need and payouts are good, with a low-ish fee.
