I didn't think gmail was designed for software suites that sent lots of email?

They don't have massive limits if you have a busy forum. Only 2k emails per day, 3k recipients per day and 500 recipients per message.

Google offers corporate accounts if you pay. Also marketing emails are generally sent via a 3rd party mailing service.

Ahh, right you are. I already pay for the standard 'basic' gsuite for most of my web sites, last time I looked into it the addtitional cost to the basic rate was just for more gdrive storage and a few enterprise level data loss protection and retention tools.

Looking again now their comparison tool doesn't explain the difference between any kind of email limits for the standard vs business vs enterprise, just a silly check mark for each version, that's helpful

Makes me wonder if the same email limits linked in my first post still apply to the business and enterprise plan, alough that would seem odd considering the large increase in price.
