TAZ was down for several hours this morning due to a cache crash. We would have got to it sooner but it picked the wee hours of the morning to act up.

Time to invest in a downtime alarm connected to a shock collar work at all times.

My monitors notify me by text whenever something (live) fails - I knew TAZ was down within 5 minutes ;)

In order to move to XF2 we'd have to jettison quite a few add-ons.

Why would that XF2 is nice but its not yet needed. I think people want to upgrade to fast.

I don't think he was suggesting that we upgrade to XF2, just saying that he thought that's why we were down.

Well, one thing for sure (at least for me) is the site is slower than molasses in wintertime right now.

I had a massive lag (10-20 seconds) when first connecting after the downtime but it's been fine ever since including revisits.

Yeah, when I moused over the bell icon it took a good 8-10 seconds for the alert box to pop up. I'm going to try shutting the tab down that I have the site loaded in and load it in another and if that doesn't work try another browser.

The lag in typing and getting a response is horrible actually. I honestly wasn't exaggerating - it's almost like dialup.

Just a small taste of Chrome developer network tool and a refresh of the site and some browsing.

    EDIT:
And it's also slow a a snail in Safari also.

I was wondering what happened. Cached and Burn!

Let's issue him a shock collar!
