Fantastic news!! Thanks for letting everyone here know!!
There are still people developing SMF?
congrats, waiting for final version
can't wait to upgrade my forum
What a silly question! There are heaps of people who are passionate about SMF and many of them are working on it as well!
I like how you "disagree".
I figured I should start using those buttons at some point .
It's been a long time coming. Beta 1 was released back in middle of 2014. We're now in middle of 2015 before Beta 2 has arrived. No offence, but nearly 12 months between two Beta releases, I'm surprised that still keeps people interested in SMF.
Frankly, it's way too long between two Beta releases that if you expect to keep people interested in using SMF software.
I guess most SMF users today are those who never used something different. At least SMF has a traditional UI.
You might want to just try the beta version out on a test site, because it will probably work fine. Otherwise you might be waiting a while. If I remember correctly, I was using 2.0 beta for at least two years before they released the final gold version, and it was rock solid.
What are you linking to?
Ha ha yeah I was running the RC on my forum for a while, it was a HUGE pain to upgrade my theme each time but it was worth it for the new features .
I'm linking to the last big SMF I know.
The largest known SMF site has 78,935,227 Posts, 1,818,673 Threads, and 147,834 Members at the time I post this (copied and pasted from their stats).
Which is it?
It's a forum for virtual pets actually. I'm not going to name it, I'd rather they be left alone and they would too. They're fairly well customised to match their website and they're looking good and fairing well so I would rather not have people going over there and bothering them for no reason ;D.
This pretty much sounds like "well, it exists! really! please believe me! pleeeassse!"
I don't think that site could ever have been described as big.
Ahh I didn't know we did that!
Yeah that's the one, you can check their stats on the bottom against my post yourself! Hopefully they've gone up since then .
Actually I was looking into this: http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Large_forums
