What mods do you find silly and why?

I just saw a new one on XF that I think is silly. It is a mod that allows staff members ignore other staff members. IMO if you are staff on a site, and feel the need to ignore another staff member, you need to excuse yourself from your position.

That one is beyond silly, Staff should keep as a team and if they can't stand another staff member then they're not worthy to be staff.

I feel the one's that allow you to read users private messages are wrong also, Users deserve privacy.

Yeah the PM one is a grey area, I made a mod like that, well took one over, and I know quite a few members used it.

While I don't have one installed, I can see situations where an admin needs to step in and deal with abuse of the PM system, and would find one handy.

that's what the report button is for.

Abuse may happen which in that case there's a report button which alerts the staff to the abuse. (Least in XenForo there is.)

The way I see it... any admin can go into the DB and view PM's if they really want too, all that add-on does is allow you to skip that step.

That being said I've never had the need to view PM's. I suppose the only real "silly" add-on was the "No Forums" which turned XenForo a forum software into something not forum software. I understand the point is to use the user system/alerts what not but I just found it funny that's all

I suppose my point of it, that plugin doesn't "breach" someones privacy, it's just a tool to bring stuff that's available in the DB to the front end.

Agreed, like I said, it was one I inherited, really don't see the need, but some admins did.

It could be possible that 2 staff members dislike each other and instead of one or both of them suffering by having to look at each others posts - it resolves the issue.
It's restoring something that was removed from xF, but yes - it's a useful addon.

Other than that, you don't get a silly modification. There's something for everyone. What you want isn't what Bobby wants. And 10 downloads would like to argue against you

XenForo definitely have some work to do, reporting a single message is insanely useless when it's a conversation. Other messages need to be seen to fairly evaluate the situation (unless it's a blatant violation of rules).

Since you're blatantly picking on Robust here, I'll pick through your addons and find some useless ones. I'm sure there are more, but I'm not familiar with vBulletin and it's core functionality.

I think the creators of silly mods are great modders, and have great mods, but they get bored easily so they make silly mods.
