Setting up a PHPBB3 Forum

I am in the mist of starting a new PHPBB3 forum, this is new territory for me so looking for some basic set up help.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of a newbie guide? I want to get it set up right from the off so I do not run into to many problems later.

Provided you have cPanel, setting up phpBB is one click.

Yep I got that but. I was talking more about the forum set up from the PHPbb admin panel ect.

It's best to not use the one click install & upload the files via ftp & set up a database via your cpanel. Which bit of the admin set-up are you having trouble with? Have you read the documentation on the phpbb site?

Hi, The first thing I am having issues with is the avatar, There is a limit on size, I would like people to be able to upload the image they want and the system to resize the image if that is possible.

To resize automatically would require a extension normally although there is a workaround ( not one for a newbie}
However in the ACP under General/Avators settings adjust the settings to suit whatever max setting you want .
