    For most of time you would want to use "pv" to simply monitor restore progress

    Code:
    pv database.sql | mysql database_name

    The article is a good idea but it lacks portability. The author assumes that cPanel is installed and the server is running Linux and MySQL. While this is perfectly fine, it should be made more obvious in the title or in the first paragraph. :tup:
