Got a notice from Softaculous about Joomla 3.3 being ready. The main attraction is two factor authentication from what I read before.

In the meantime you can use the 3.3 version, you won't need to migrate, it will be a simple update

Do we have enough themes for Joomla 3.3 ? Is it safe to upgrade ?

I'm still back with Joomla 2.5.x LTS... I'm going to wait since my last post asking about stability and issues went un-answered.

Installed Joomla 3.3 last night to have a toot at. Not keen on Joomla compared to WordPress, even though I can see it has many advantages over it with certain features. I think it's the ease of using WP over Joomla to do things much faster.

It depends... I am using Joomla since Joomla 1.0 from 2007 and for me it's easier and faster to build a site with Joomla rather than wp.
If you need a blog use k2 It's very fast and powerful. If you need a website or a blog with a forum there is no better way than Joomla + kunena. Kunena is years behind bbpress or other other forum plugin for wp

    Years behind, or years ahead?

Agree all the forum plug-ins for WP are bad. Tried all the main ones and not good.

Personally I think WP is more comfortable. Joomla is good, in my opinion, for more complex sites, blogs. By the way Radu, is there any good free page builder plugin for Joomla ?

I love some of the guys who have been part of the core of the design of Joomla, such as rok. But I left Joomla years ago when they couldn't get the URL structure set properly and it appears that it is still a huge mess. I could have even lived with "mambots" just fine. The back end and taxonomy wasn't great. I find it to be right in the middle of Drupal and Wordpress, each on the edge of greatness of what it does. Too bad the middle means not really doing anything too well. Disappointed. Hope they clean it up.

The 3.3 release introduces new features into the CMS such as improved password hashing and microdata and optimizes the code with performance improvements to the routing system and the continued conversion of MooTools based JavaScript to jQuery.
