Is phpBB good for a beginner?

Yeah the permissions system is quite challenging. You just need to read the documentation.


the only problem with the phpbb is that actual forum themes suck. They are obsolete and lack of modern qualities and structure. As usual thanks for external developers that have brilliant ideas, finally I an amazing theme that is cross browser and cross device compatible is out there. The only downside is that is not free. If you ask me $15 is well spent though. I've been running it for a while now and my users are super happy by the look of the forum. It's crazy fast too. Check it out it's called BBOOTS. Apparently it was built on top of the Twitter Bootstrap Framework. Freaking sweet!

The dev. really knows his stuff. he's been really helpful with me. I had some weird problems after update phpbb from 3.0.11 to 3.0.12.
