Again, this is just my opinion as an individual.
Come on now, Administrators aren't allowed to have an "opinion as an individual"

hes not a warm and fuzzy kind of guy, but he did fill a few gaping holes in the xf hack library pretty much from day one. right out of the gate he had a viable portal while the others took forever to develop.
i understand that the crowdsourcing debacle is front and centre, and jaxel needs to make good on that.I agree, as an enthusiast myself I've got his wiki addon and it's pretty stellar and honestly, there's no rival to it. Vaultwiki is way too complicated for my tastes and has way too little documentation covering it. Even though I own a vaultwiki license, I stand by Jaxel's Xencarta as the product more suited to my wants/needs.
However, this doesn't excuse him from failing to deliver. It's like pre-ordering a video game and never getting it, and every time you call the game store to ask why it hasn't shown up in the mail nobody picks up.
i also think that the majority of the people concerned are allowing that to colour jaxels every word in an unfavourable light.

I am also a strict adherent to rules, and believe in brutal honestly;
Yeah, but that's his battle to win/lose, not ours. I'm not too overly concerned with how he feels about the situation, and neither are the people who got swindled. It's just a natural reaction, the hive mind reaction. Every administrator's faced it before. By creating the crowdfund, he gathered a lot of people interested in something that had a single point of failure - and it has so far failed.
like the guy on tv used to say, 'just the facts maam'.Well what the hell do you expect? For us to hold his hand during the process?...
He took over $5000+ from the Xenforo community. I could careless about his personality or mental illness... Scamming is scamming, and the consequences begin to roll in. This is life, with the factor of acts and consequences. Not a fairy tale where those that have different personalities don't deserve to suffer the negatives of their ridiculous actions.
Get real here. Ffs...
its not about jaxels feelings, its about presenting your argument without allowing it to invalidate itself though intentional misinterpretations, misrepresentations, and non sequiturs.
i am not debating the validity of the crowdsource-gate debacle at all. what i question is the merit of trying to somehow associate that with his personality disorder (which i dont think he posted for sympathy) or his stance on coding for users of the lowest common denominator.Unfortunately, you obviously must not have read through all the evidence and reasoning for concern so far. Especially as it looks like Sheldon 's topic here was taken offline for some reason.
Please tell us what "argument" everyone has presented you so far that is not valid. With facts to prove otherwise.
Thanks,
EDIT: Looks like the topic is back again. Please read this topic: https://theadminzone.com/threads/xenporta2-vaporware-beta-stage-the-timeline.129706/

from the outside it really looks like a stretch. like really reaching for more things to demonise him for.
i dunno...

i think personality-wise, i might be quite similar to him. i can see a lot of what was written from jaxels perspective. i understand what he is on about when he says that the users are stupid enough to find even the most obscure bug (and think you guys do too). its the entire reason i dont post addons. users can make even a simple template edit a 30 post back-and-forth support session. he offers his stuff mostly for free, isnt obnoxious with copyright spam or callbacks, and in return its always been made clear that people shouldnt expect hand-held support, particularly if a question has already been answered. he does patch his code or post templates or snippits as needed.
No words. In fact, my mantra when it comes to programming is "The user is an idiot".
I decided to trust him until January 2015, that was the deal. But I understand your point of view ^^ I hope you understand mine.
https://theadminzone.com/threads/xenporta2-vaporware-beta-stage-the-timeline.129706/Can anyone confirm and speak more about this? Because I'm curious... If there was a promised date of January 2015, why the hell are we all furious at Jaxel in November 2014? That seems nonsensical imo. But of course - I doled out no cash for the XP2 crowdfund... Hope someone can clarify.

Duh. Sometimes I miss old-fashion, tabless browsing. I actually *started* reading that thread - even rated it informative on Monday. I started multitasking though and it kinda slipped my mind. I have it open in another tab - just hadn't quite made my way back to it = oops. Thanks for the link and the clarificationhttps://theadminzone.com/threads/xenporta2-vaporware-beta-stage-the-timeline.129706/
First post gives you the timeline of events - including when the beta deadline was passed, the failure to give backers a dedicated forum too give feedback, other unmet deadlines, etc. It's not so much about the fact that its loose deadline date was "possibly" December 2014, it was the manner in which all the delay were (or, in this case, weren't) dealt with.
Jaxel said he's a German Jew. And though he has schooling and a command of English, I begin to wonder if some of what he *tried* to espouse may have either been lost in translation or got swallowed up in his need to defend against the accusations coming at him from all sides? I won't attempt to defend him, as that would be Borg futility - but... IDK... I won't say much more here - but I most sincerely hope Jaxel comes directly out of his "success paralysis" and shocks the hell out of everybody with Xenporta 2. I've used several of his modifications over the years and know that he has the talent to produce workable solutions.According to the crowdfunding campaign, the delivery of the project was supposed to be this December. Since he's admitted not moving at all on the project, it would be safe to say, the deadline won't be met.
