Ideal amount of queries and templates?

I know minstrel brought this up to me before so I've been doing some work to improve those numbers.

What I did so far:

- Disabled Who is Online for guests
- Disabled the Javascript Map for guests
- Removed viglink banner from the footer
- Flash is disabled for iPhone users (people that have flash disabled) - so they don't get the ugly X on top when they browse my forums.

Any other suggestions you guys have in mind?
I am open for any suggestions to try to reduce my queries for my forums.

I am currently also using vBOptimise (Lite) + Xcache.

You could disable memberslist, I know a few forums disable it.

Have the default vB skin as an option and check the speed on that. My first guess is that your skin is a major cause of slow speeds on your site.

Thanks, I've tried both styles, even the default, same amount of queries and templates.
The speeds are not too different unless you are on 56k.
