Github selects Lithium to run its community forums, Discourse dev is none too pleased

    The people who built stackoverflow and Discourse seems to be too much opinionated and edgy. They feel industry should follow them blindly. I had a lot of such instances noticed on stackoverflow. I am wondering why they want to have such impression on others.

    I remember trying to use Discourse Meta with Adblock once and the extension just made the whole thing whitescreen...

    Github gets a very diverse crowd, so they probably want something that actually works without JavaScript, comes from a high profile source, looks reasonably modern (not something that our grandparents would have come up with) and has a reasonably high level of support.
    Github has their own forum software now too. And I should note briefly that Github is owned by Microsoft, so that could be interesting.
