That depends on the forum theme. Some forum designs can have really big buttons, some others can have small buttons.

How would we if we don't know what actual images you're talking about?

It's different for every theme, but it's easy to check. All you need to do is right click the image and view it's properties to see the width and height of the image.

Yep, just open up the image in a new tab and hold your mouse over the tab to see its dimensions.
