Does google send searchers to the forum home very often ?

Anyone have some rough stats on that ?

Using TAZ as an example ... how often does a google search direct people to https://theadminzone.com/ vs a thread on TAZ ?

Depends on what they're searching for. Anyone searching 'admin forum' (or similar terms) is likely going to be sent to the forum home page.

Are you able to determine what search terms hit the home page .... vs. which hit on the threads ?

unfortunately Google Analytics organic search terms aren't always provided due to Google's changes for user privacy http://googleblog.blogspot.com.au/2011/10/making-search-more-secure.html

but Google Webmaster tools has more of that info

Very convenient of Google to not give that data out.
Keep it where they can use it but no one else can ...
unless you pay for it ...
