I need to find a host.

I found a domain name but now I need a host.

What do you consider the best annual hosting service?

I only want to pay yearly not monthly.

How would shared or cloud hosting work? should I stick with that?

Any good annual plans for shared cloud hosting?

    Thanks

Avoid the plans that offer unlimited everything, that's the rule of thumb.

Yes, rather straight forward process, either thru softaculous APPs Installer, or manually via FTP

    Why is that?

Would this be an okay choice for a newbie?

    (I can only pay annually)

(thinking of buying my domain from there too)

People on my forum embed youtube videos into the forum would that make my space runout super fast? Is there ways to add more space?

(I can't find the link in nuwebhosting that has the $40 a yr plan. if someone would give me a link that would be great)

    Thanks :)

Na not really, it's the " For Life " you gotta be weary about, I've been on multiple ends of the spectrum, most unlimited plans are typically enough to sustain a rather decent amount of traffic and provides a very good amount of space. While some have a preference on one environment and approach over the other varies upon the individual as well. For example, some prefer a VPS with Cpanel. Ofcourse there are many other factors involved also.

    How about this choice?

This is the lowest price i could find. Web hosting is so expensive these days!

Do you like it? Go for it.
Forget about my advice not to choose hosting from your domain name provider.
Well, you did not read it?
    You do not need advice.

Ok i'll heed your advice but what is wrong with buying a domain name and a host from the same company?

I am hooked to it about 40/50 bucks a year has hooked me!

    is there a catch?

What if I host my site on namecheap

but buy a domain from somewhere else?

    is that a good idea?

    thanks

I just paid 33 bucks for a year on 20GB solid state drives with this company
    https://www.crocweb.com/web-hosting.html

I had found them at webhostingtalk, which I would strongly suggest checking out the reviews from there, also coupons.

So far I'm pretty happy with them, I run small sites so I went with a smaller plan.

Generally not a good idea for your domain to be hosted by the domain provider.
    Maybe namecheap is an exception.
    My domains are from them.

I understand your advice is not to use a domain service as a host but why in your opinion?

Is there a catch i'm missing?

    Thanks :)

don't get the joke im trying to be serious. is it they hold your data hostage or what. I understand your view not to use a host to get a domain and to host but why?

    What is the problem?

Is it prone to hacking or what?

    thanks :)

I can't agree more, on learn, as you know I'm very fond of it, being a Professor and all.

Technology at this level, i.e. Shared, VPS, Cloud, and Dedicated Servers or application migration, has you toying with a very direct career path. I've never personally used their hosting, so unfortunately, I cannot speak on that point. As per registering a domain with one as opposed to the other, really boils down to tomatoes tomatos really, again depends on preference, organization, sheer pricing, along with a plethora of other factors.

Dedicated support is a major determining factor, their response time, product knowledge, and many simply do not have the time or patience to wait on hold for some of the larger organizations when calling in for support.
