Any new updates or future plans going on at all?
LOL. I didn't even know that they still existed.
Our member dandello was the one who got it going again, I do believe but I haven't heard from her in a long time on here...
Last release was a year ago. Their forums seem to have a wee bit of activity.
Not sure that I would spend the time to try it though.
I've tried to work with perl way back in the day... In fact it is what I went to right after learning HTML but me and perl did not get along well
It was like neanderthal meeting an extraterrestrial.. we were both confused lol
Perl is wonderful!
Shame I don't remember almost anything...
Maybe on a rainy day I will mess around with it again
Sorry - didn't see this until now. (Computer issues, holiday guests, other family crises.)
YaBB 2.5.4/2.6 (we haven't decided which will be the final name) is almost ready for rollout. People are already working on adapting their favorite mods to it which is a good sign.
Hey Dandello, welcome back Glad to see you are still with us and sorry about the family issues
Good to see YaBB is still going! Do let us know of any updates
Newest YaBB update - due to hosting and other issues the official YaBB site is offline but theres an unofficial support site at http://yabbforumsoftware.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that the official YaBB site admin will get it up and running again.
We're also almost ready for the roll out of version 2.6 which is coded in a more modern version of Perl in preparation for the next step - html5 and mySQL support.
Any updates on the official site getting back up?
I'm told it's being worked on.
Hope YaBB will get a good ecosystem for latest release. Good luck.
I'd like to see YaBB make a good come back as well
The current Admin is working on getting YaBBForum.com back on line in a stable ecosystem. YaBB 2.6.0 is in Beta and although we're still finding little things to be fixed, it's actually pretty stable.
And the old version YaBBForum.com is back online although some things outside the forum are still being worked on.
We're still working a few bugs out of the conversion to 2.6.0 (that's in a closed subdomain at the moment) but the data went in fine.
That is good news. Keep us updated Dandello.
The 'old' YaBB support forum should be converted to the new software build sometime this coming week.
Once that's done we're planning the roll-out of the newest version.
