Weird, got the latest version on iOS, logged in and all notifications settings are on.
Nice! Keep up the great work taz.
Okay, so I'm getting private message notifications, but not alert notifications.
There must be something wrong if there's no app settings?
I've updated the add-on with a new version - let me know if this fixes your issue.
PM alerts still working, no go on normal alerts
Honestly, the video turns me off, while I was enthusiastic. I am much interested in using your app, but the video doesn't give me the impression that I can present my community in a recognizable way.
It almost seems as if it is trying to compete with tapatalk and provides similar functionality. That is the last impression that you want to give.
I dont want any up/downvoting. We already have a rating system.
I think that you are not bounded to that style (twenty two).
I agree with this. Both Tapatalk and Turnkey keep adding new features which effectively takes control out of the forum owner's hands. Turnkey allows somewhat better control; for example they let you turn off the feed as replacement for home page, which I'm assuming means that the up/down rating won't be shown. However, there are other aspects of the Turnkey GUI which are iterating over time, which is not what I want as a forum owner. I want a good basic product that stays visually the same or where new features are added with opt in settings, so I don't have to worry about what's coming next and whether I want it.
From the video, it seems that Turnkey know that their main competition is Tapatalk. However, it's not enough to distinguish themselves on the basis of lacking the most onerous Tapatalk missteps (eg copying content to their site and adding ads). Those of us who left Tapatalk want control over our app. The last thing I want is to have to delete files or disable template modifications for something as simple as turning off the smart banner for members.
on/off setting for some TMA features could be a good idea.
TMA generally does not take control; the feed on the homepage is off by default so rather we let admins turn it on.
This is understood; in regards to the floating buttons, they were put there because putting them in the title bar wasn't possible without cutting off the title. We iterated many different designs and this was the best. It's understood that for some it isn't suitable, and can feel like control is being taken.
We added an option to hide the buttons in style properties, but for this feature to work we have to release an incremental update to the apps which we will do soon. Designers will also have the option to trigger the app's camera/forms using buttons in the skin (but this couldn't be default because there'd be no camera/no forms).
It may seem this way but they actually are not competitors if FMA isn't available, since most TT apps are free. It is simply that most admins signing up for TMA now come from there and a majority of (repeated) questions are comparisons to their previous app.
You can use any skin to make your community recognizable, the video was simply shot on the new skin that ships with TMA. Up/downvoting is only part of the feed and the new skin. To be clear, it is the Like system presented differently to make it more accessible and useful, it is not a separate voting system
The new skin was also to give admins the option (but not the obligation) out of the box to have a simple app experience. This way, if your forum is heavily customized, you can do your thing, if not and you can't be bothered, you can fall back on the new skin.
Is it possible to activate up/down on different style or only on "twenty two" style?
This is specific to Twenty Two, except for the trending feed.
We use our own reputation system.
We need to be able to define what style the app users have and have all our features in it.
The function to post a new thread with selecting the appropriate node looks nifty but looks like it will result in chaos.
How does it look when there are several similar nodes? Are all the matches displayed?
What about other content types, like media or resources?
The autocomplete function as displayed in the video will cause wrong selections, and posts that should be replies to existing threads will be posted as new threads. That will be a lot of chaos for moderators to to clean up.
Just downloaded it on my android, will play around with it for a few weeks.
I'm glad TAZ is checking out other options to tapatalk, I would rather it didn't say "turn key app" or whatever when it's downloading.
Normally I would be turned off if I thought I was downloading an app from a professional forum and saw a random phrase like that on my screen.
Might as well have said free viagra or free cell phones..lol
I haven't read any of the 10 pages here, only the first post so I'll wonder through those but I'm hoping this will allow easier access to TAZ for mobile users.
You are able to define the style and it has your features by default -- while Twenty Two provides a streamlined experience it is 100% optional. The old way the in-app style system worked was confusing but it has been fixed in the add-on patch just released
R0binHood made a great suggestion on xf and it will be completely re-architected.
In-app sharing is coming in a later version as mentioned on xf. Media and resources have been looked at and if enough requests are placed we'll put focus on those areas -- while core, they are add-ons and requests have been few; resources need to be focused elsewhere ATM.
This is less of a problem since the web version of these features can be used in-app in the interim instead of nothing at all.
While the app stores always show the forum's name and logo, in the publisher/developer name field app stores show the name of the app store account owner; if TAZ ever gets app store accounts it's an option as we can publish under others' accounts
I think you should re-evaluate this. You will not get requests. Thats not a good way to measure demand. People will jump on board once you add it. I know various people are in need for file and media Sharing and are in fact considering custom development for a different app.
Sharing media to threads will not work well and is not interesting. In fact I would turn that feature off if I would have the app. It would just create a mess for my staff to clean up. I know you are currently working on it, but I think you are making a mistake. It only seems attractive until people will start using it and find the implementation doesn't work for them.
Image and media sharing to XFMG is huge and a major selling point for an app. It comes second after PUSH.
Pretty much anyone who can invest in an app will have XFMG.
