Has anyone used Affiliate Marketing to generate paid subscriptions for your Forums?

Hello,

I know a lot of forum owners seem to use affiliate marketing sites to sell third party items, but is anyone using affiliate marketing (as an advertiser) to promote the paid membership on your forum site?

Curious if that has been successful.

I have used it once spend a good $5 and decided against it, perhaps it could have been successful but I have been successful without it.

Just Viglink, nothing to write home about but it is money coming in.
