I'm not saying there's a minority of younger peeps that have tried to make forums.

Maybe you're clinging to forums because you're just old and getting stuck in your ways. When your folk move on then there will be even less forums. You'll make up whatever little things to excuse not "upgrading" or adapting.

On topic though, as long as there are paranoid people on the web, there will always be a place for forums. There's no shortage of those either. I'd especially agree that smirks niche fields quite a few, so I wouldn't say that it's for "old people" necessarily.

I'm old and I happen to like teh Biebs (his music anyway). My phone has all my music and a few select videos. My car stereo has a CD/DVD slot, but has never seen either disk type because it also plays a variety of other formats. Yes, I do have some Bieber tunes, as well as a huge variety of other new and old tunes. I've learned how to dance on my Segway and I like falling to sleep to mellower music and ASMR. My car only looks like a soccer mom car (I need a minivan to haul my mobility aide). It's as agile as any kiddie car in my neighborhood, sounds better than most and has 25% more power than stock.

But my forum and another I manage are populated with people in my age bracket that aren't as young at heart as I am and aren't into social media, gaming and other children's toys. They like forums. I love forums. Forums do what only forums can do. It is a unique experience and it can be quite satisfying and profitable.

Old age has no boundaries. Youth does. ;)

Being older feels good to me. I've no longer to wonder what I'm going to do when I'm grown up, just wonder what to do after I'm dead.. ;)

Ok, so I am old (almost 49). I like forums too. But, what is there out there, that can replace a forum? And please don't say Twitter and Facebook or even WhatsApp. OMG!:eek:

So what can replace the forum format for binding communities of people with the same kind of interests together?

Perhaps. I don't exactly agree with the mindset of anyone else my age.

But then I consider that I run a bunch of Nintendo forums. That most members are younger than I am and still prefer forums. And then realise the simple truth is this:

We're right, it's certain young people and their hipster life styles who are wrong. Just like I'm pretty sure everyone with a liberal college student mindset is wrong. Forums are superior to social media, and those who don't see it are simply delusional, end of.

Forums are and always will be better than social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. Only the willfully blind do not see it.

But hey, take what I say with a pinch of salt. I still kind of miss the 90s and 00s era fan sites, Rareware in the good old days and Wario Land 4 (which was released in 2001).

I almost flatlined when I read that line... Kinda not loving Justin showing up in American court geeked out and high as **** but I am a lover of R&B. Does this make me a dang youngin?! LOL

old is a state of mind not a physical appearance. I have seen 60-70 year old people going to raves in the 90's and 20 year olds afraid they would get hurt if they went.
