Does anyone else do this?

I find myself, tonight since I'm creating this thread, looking back through old posts, looking up old projects with Way Back Machine and all that jazz.

Do any of my fellow Taz members do this? If so, what do you find prompts it?

Well hey there Shawn :)

I constantly look up previous sites and such on WBM. I even look at TAZ way back then and what it used to be, in the vbadmins days.

I definitely do it for one reason: Self improvement.

I'd look back at my old posts at CodingForums, but they never really changed the skin lol
On average that board has like 10 members on at a time and like 200 guests

Me too, I do this too.

Although not just that, sometimes I just like to stare at some shiny and/or distracting buttons that post contains. Weird huh?

Yes. Old routine is good to dig up, if just to match past rigor from much more trying times compared to today's.

I look at my old sites in the Wayback Machine as a way to beat myself up over my past failures and immaturity. I don't typically use it for that though, I'm more interested in seeing how others' sites looked in the past.

I rarely do. I tend to live for now and the future with little interest in the past. It drives my other half mad...

her: Do you remember when...
me: No.
her: You know, that time when...
me: No, I don't remember. /leaves room.

Yeah I do. I look back at how different the times were in a particular period. I look back at what amusing things people may have said. I look back at things to reminisce, nostalgia I should say.

What's most important; I look at the past as an inspiration and to carry on to the future.

Yes, I look fondly at the first forum I was a member of. It closed a while back but will be stuck in time forever (2004).

I look at former iterations of my forum about once a year. Figuring out what went wrong, what were the great moves. What could have been different, etc.

I think many people do, for different reasons. I know I do, every once in a while.
