With me and the help of my developer, we have made a sleek, smooth, custom skin for vB 3.8.3

I would like very helpful feedback as we are willing to change ANYTHING before the site officially opens.

Thank you,
Sarge

It's very nice... the only thing I would suggest is to have the call of duty logo somewhere, it doesnt immediately say "this is a call of duty" forum.

Other than that it is very good.

I am not sure I know what you mean, at the very top in the logo it says- CODBarracks "Call of Duty COMMUNITY" isn't that the same as forum bud?

Anyways thanks for the feedback, anyone else?

Fill up the black space in the top right with advertisements before you launch it.

I a a little skeptical putting advertisements up so soon, due to the fact I am not in this for the money and I feel ads will drive away members at the start of a new forum....

Everything looks great, Mike - glad to see you again, by the way!

I really like the concept of the forum. The skin is very sleek! I love the new post/old post icons! I also like the header. While the right side is quite blank, I think it could do momentarily. However, the "What's Going On?" icons are quite blegh. I prefer everything to be custom, because the vBulletin default icons are quite bland.

Nice job!

I think you are right, I will try to see what we can cook up for the icons. Thank you for your input :)

Somewhere down the line you will want to put advertisements on to help towards hosting costs. If you do it before you start then it saves all the uproar from members x months down the line.

Members see the ads, probably wont even notice them and they have made the decision to sign up to a forum with ads, you are not forcing them upon them.

About the design, it's nice but if you really don't want to put adverts in the top left I would suggest moving the login & welcome message up there instead. Would look a lot cleaner. :)

I think the green is a tiny bit too bright and the collapse buttons need to be transparent :)

Hope this helps,
Jake

Well the site is open, I figured I could work on these suggestions while the site was open.

Thank you all for your help, and I am still open for suggestions :)

Remove the "Welcome to the Call of Duty Barracks™. If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ...". It's default and the links don't link to anything special. And as I said, the green is too bright!

I heard you about the bright green, but a lot of people seem to like the colors, so not sure what to do there. However thanks for reminding me to change the notices :)

It's alright. Maybe you could dim down the green a bit?

Maybe on the left of the category-bar green, you could have an army man.
