I am don't have a license for IP.B, but I am thinking about getting on when IP.B3 is released. Are the prices going to stay the same? Or will the go up for a new license?

I wonder if they'll offer a life-time license for a much more premium price. I'd be happy to pay an extra 100 dollars just to have it.
I have not heard of any price or license changes with the release of 3.0 to date.
Note also that all existing customers will of course be able to upgrade as with any version. If you were worried about a price increase you could always purchase now and just upgrade to 3 when it is available.

Doesn't look like there's any price increase, they just had a sale that ended January 12. They were selling the IPB license at $129 as oppose to $149.

When you purchase the software, the download section will be available to you in the client area (using the login details) & you can download the stable version 2.3.x or the beta for v3.0. But don't use 3.0 in a public environment

Yes, you can host it on a free or paid hosting package with a domain, you aren't tied to anything like a free forum host. You actually own the software license and the software itself so you can use it where ever you like. Make sure you only have one live board though
