Add a donation page to the forum?

I have a new site (about 1 month old) and have had members asking how to send a donation. I've seen sites with a donation button, and page within the forums. But I've search and can't find info on where or how to do this.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm very limited in HTML.

Try Treasury mod. - One of the best modification for donation.

Or a simple PayPalDonations modification.

Thanks for that. I was able to get it downloaded, but I'm still confused. There's nothing about how to get my personal paypal info on there. (And I've read about 10 pages of the info on the other board) and there's no manual. Do I have to edit the files? And if so, how do I know which ones to edit and how much to edit? and where?

Go to Administrator section and look on the left under "members" (I believe) and then follow the instruction on there that modification creator left.

Or manual editing - Only if you have custom theme (sometimes it is necessary use for default theme).

When you go to one of the modification mod that I listed above, right on the side bar you'll see which link for you to download, etc. Click "Manual Install Instructions for SMF" to which version you're using (1.1.4) and follow these manual editing. It'll tell you a baby steps (such as add after, replace, add before, etc).

If you are new you can pm me and i will install the mod for you free of charge.

I manually use a script built by Paypal beside searching box.

You have to go to Paypal first to get the code then paste it anywhere you like in your forum.

I try to do away with mods as much as possible because I read it in simplemachines.org that it can compromise security sometimes.

noo thats not true, some mods do have security issues but then every software that has mods has similar problems, it really is dependant on the mod authors knowledge.
