How much should I be paying for an expired XF licence?

Only one owner, about 4 years old, mint condition!

It's expired, so I don't think it can be transferred (get Chris D to confirm that, but I think it's the case) until it's active again. I wouldn't pay much more than the cost of the renewal, personally.

OK - thanks! So it sounds like it's a no-go until the licence has been activated again.

How much should I be paying for an active XF licence?

80$ is also high as it has no resale value compared to a licence bought directly from XF ltd (which you could sell after it expires or no longer need for up to 80$).

Karll Here's a thread at TAZ that confirms some of what is being discussed in this thread, essentially that a license needs to be active in order to be transferred.

https://xenforo.com/community/threads/license-transfer.145531/

Note that licenses also can not be transferred within 120 days of its initial purchase date. Not applicable in this case since you said it's four years old but in case this thread is ever viewed by anybody else in the future....

https://xenforo.com/license-agreement/

The Software may be permanently transferred by the original purchaser to a third party ("Subsequent Licensee") not before 120 days following purchase, provided that the expiry date of the License falls after the date of the transfer. The original licensee may not retain a copy or installation of the Software. The Subsequent Licensee must agree to the terms of this Agreement and waive the right to transfer.

In regards to how much to pay for an active license.... less than $160 but I'd expect more than $80. ;) Personally if I was picking up a 2nd hand license I'd be looking at $100 or less. I've seen some go as high as $140 but (again, for me personally) if the savings represents just a few dollars off of the normal price than I'd rather just pick up a new license instead unless I know the seller and am positive that I'm not about to get ripped off. It's a personal choice though in regards to how much are you willing to risk buying a 2nd hand license if the deal goes sour versus how much much of a potential saving you might get.
