NodeBB is probably Discourse's biggest competitor.

1.12 has:

Improvements to reminder emails.

Adds instant search results.

Adds better anti-spam.

As a reminder, in 1.11 they seem to boast the best GDPR compliance on the market.

They apparently store hashes instead of IP Addresses for guests.
I'm not quite sure what else they do, but they have the consent notices, etc.

Ahh okay. I briefly seen that and was thinking they are pretty proud of that software lol I’ll have to download and check it out.
