Give or take the odd few months when I need to remove myself in case I can't resist the temptation to murder Mr. S - it's a thing, trust me.

"What is this weirdo talking about?" I hear you ask. Go on, ask... I'll wait.

I'm talking about a) How long TAZ has been around and b) how long I've been a member.

Fifteen years...

I found what was almost my first post (as always going against the grain and posting an intro long after I'd jumped into topics and thrown my weight around) . I was so innocent and sweet. Don't argue. I was!

Look... here's the proof

You'll see I introduced myself as Azh. That's because for a long long time I went by the username Azhria Lilu - I used it everywhere. It's only the last few years, I've stopped that habit and started using my actual name.

Back then, when I was still sweet and innocent (I can hear you laughing at the back) I only had two daughters. Now I've got four of the monsters.. and a son.. and still three stepsons..... is it any wonder I'm losing the will to live?

Anyway, I digress.

15 years - that's quite an achievement for a niche site like TAZ.

When I first joined, I was new to the forum world. I had two sites running on vB (oh vB, how you broke my heart ) and I was looking for help with every single aspect of forum administration - from styling to day to day running, marketing and monetising. I found TAZ by accident, not long after it first opened its doors and threw myself in - mind, heart and soul.

For a long time, I'm pretty sure if you'd cut me and made me bleed, I would have bled out TAZ-encoded blood. I became a moderator, then an admin and I loved TAZ like it was my very own. My oldest daughter is 16.... I've basically watched TAZ grow up from a baby

It got me to thinking about how much the forum game has changed over the years and I'm curious now about the new generation of forum owners who are turning up here (or even the old-school forumers who still hang around the halls) - what are you looking for when you hit TAZ?

Support from someone who's done what you're about to take on? Ideas? Guidance? Or did you come looking for something else? Community, camaraderie maybe? Did you want to find tips on how to make money from your forum or are you checking things out to see if someone has already done what you have in mind?

Whisper your secrets.

Sell me your souls.

Tell me your darkest desires... no wait, don't do that.. we'll all get banned.

Well done to both you and TAZ for sticking around for such a time - as for this:

Whisper your secrets.

Sell me your souls.

Tell me your darkest desires... no wait, don't do that.. we'll all get banned.

I don't have any secrets
My soul is already mortgaged up to hilt
I've been waiting so long for my darkest desires to manifest themselves that I've forgotten what they were!

Well done to TAZ, anyway. :ROFLMAO:

I don't have any secrets
Pffft - I don't believe that.

My soul is already mortgaged up to hilt
Time for a second mortgage? *Holds out a pen* It just needs a signature at the bottom, I'll take care of the small print....

I've been waiting so long for my darkest desires to manifest themselves that I've forgotten what they were!

Do I get a fiddle made of gold in exchange?

But on a serious note...
what are you looking for when you hit TAZ?
I don't know anymore. TAZ isn't the same TAZ from years ago and, really, neither am I since I've now reached the same point in life as your current signature.

Cheap at half the price. Absolutely!

Right?

It's an interesting position to be in, though, don't you think? I'm pretty sure you joined around the same time as me? Seeing the different stages TAZ has gone through - the ups and downs. And yet we both keep coming back - why do you think that is? There have been some great things discussed here, some not so great :ROFLMAO:

Woah, woah, woah - so what I'm taking away from all this, is that there's a dark theme for TAZ?! I never knew.
Seriously? I've been using this style since Steve and Russ put the baby on here. Never looked back :ROFLMAO:

Great thread! Me, I have many secrets, so many I had to build an extra room just to store them in, it has a weak lock though. My soul is rich in warmth, I've listed it on eBay, no bites yet. Darkest desires are are keeping my secrets entertained and feeding them to my secrets in that same room I built. 12 Years for me here on TAZ, I stumbled upon TAZ looking to help people with the slim amount of knowledge I had at the time, I was building a VB forum for my gaming clan and was in need of help and had that desire to share what I could to help others.
