I watched it last night, it's OK but the ending was somewhat predictable. The annoying (some may call it dramatic effect) thing was that you never got to know who, what or why it all happened, so the ending (whilst predictable, I got that pretty much from the early part) kind of leaves you thinking 'meh'. I like Sandra Bullock, but the acting tribute must go to 'boy and girl' who, for their age, were outstanding. Kudos to the director too, who managed to keep the octane rating reasonably high.

If I dont know the answer of WHO did it, or WHAT did it then I wont even bother watching it, I hate TV shows or movies where you never actually find out what is really happening.. :)

I actually loved the film. Of course - I'm a huge Sandra Bullock fan and it was extra special to see one of my other favorite leading ladies playing her SO: Sarah Paulson. Both of the ladies absolutely OWNED their roles.

I thought it was predictable - but well-acted. Would I see it again? Meh... Probably not.

But even though you can somewhat see the ending conclusion coming from a mile away- I sorta teared up when they finally were in the cage of safety as it were LOL - I'd say ...... Hmmmm. 6.5 stars for some really compelling acting.

I agree with you on the really compelling acting Jacquii ...and if you're a fan of Sandra this is another one for the collection. I was motivated enough to keep watching the film to entirety, and some of the ideas were good...but overall I liked A Quiet Place so much better and, for better or worse, could not help always subconsciously comparing the two.
I like your rating though, 6.5 and thats what I'd give this film as well... well maybe a bit above lets say 6.75...I did watch the movie overall and it was a heckuva lot better than most stuff out there on Netflix these days

I've heard Bird Box being compared to A Quiet Place quite a many times actually. I haven't seen that one though. It's on the to-do list. So perhaps will find some time to see it in the next few days of so - especially considering your recommendation gogoblender! Thanks for the recommend.

And yes. SANDRA FOR THE WIN! Such a talented actress. Definitely one of my faves. She gets better with time like a fine wine. And I drink her up .. LOL

I thought A Quiet Place was a much better movie than Bird Box. A lot of people accused BB of ripping off AQP, but you can say it was actually the other way around; because the book BB was based on came out a few years before AQP did.

Watching A Quiet Place was a bit distracting at first, I was waiting for John Kransinski to stare back at the camera with his WTF look every few scenes. :D

Informative about the book timelines. Interesting.
Funny about the staring into the camera with a WTF look!!! Bahahaha. Hilarious. And simultaneously ARG. Very distracting.
I hate when that happens. But it's kinda amusing the first couple times anyway LOL. Cheers dude Klaatu ;)

I watched due to the hype from social media. I must say...it was very disappointing. I don't see (no pun intended) the hype behind it. Took me 3-4 nights to finish it due to how utterly boring the movie was. Was only able to watch about 20-30min at a time it felt like, before I was ready for a nap.

That said, if they had explained things more, perhaps I would have been more intrigued by the show. But it leaves you with no answers and only small glimpses of drawings as to what it could be. You have no idea how it actually "infects" people, including some really stupid ways that I won't spoil for anyone that will actually still watch it (don't, you'll save yourself 2 hours).

Something like this movie would have made a much better TV series tbh. And maybe they didn't go that way bc it would then have to compete with TWD. Definitely an interesting concept, definitely a predictable ending, just annoying that you literally get 0 answers to pertinent (imo) questions.

I quite liked the movie at first. The problem with it is that it leaves so many questions unanswered, which makes me presume there's going to be a second movie. So I'm going to be withholding my verdict about this for a while. If it turns out there will be no sequel, then it IS quite disappointing.
