I've never seen it like this. This is why I am dumbfounded.Start by looking at what emails have been going out from your server in the mail logs.
There is no “what’s wrong with your email” functions. You have to figure it out.
Look at what emails have been sent out.
Look at Every bounced email. It tells you right there in that email why it was bounced.
This really should be second nature to anyone who owns a forum... never mind a few bigger forums.
Hack attempts and email problems are some of the more common issues. Every 20 mins I get a notification of one attempt or another.
The first thing that came to mind was "How the **** did you get into my email inbox!?" And then, I changed the password. Same crap. I change it again, he still manages to get in! Just a few days ago, my "all-mail" the default one that came with cpanel... that caught the inbox that isn't even used! Nothing I ever did fixed the issue, and the LW staff was just similarly as dumbfounded as I am.
When I saw my first "email hacked" message, there was this sinking feeling in my gut. Like, I mean, I never shared information with anyone.
What gets me is seeing the email "from" field being the same as the "to" field! Like wtf? Is that even possible? It is, but I never seen it like this. The worst thing in the past that I've seen is spam, scams, and this is one of them. LW even said so, too.
However, I've reversed the ban on hotmail/yahoo/live/outlook and decided to work on this through the holidays.
Right now, I am just confused.
