Hi. What are some of the well-known SEO companies to optimize a vBulletin forum?

If not specific to vBulletin, what are usually the most recommended names in white-hat SEO industry?

Thanks!

I've always done that stuff myself

Same here I use online tools like Google Webmaster and Google Analytics and others to get clues at what is working and what isn't. I really don't like risking my site to someone that might make a poor judgement call.

I don't think there is such a thing as a list of "Best SEO companies" you pay your money and takes your choice.

The problem you are facing is how to judge what is best, when you read the blurb that these companies push out, they are geared more towards to shopping sites, that is easier to get a site ranked highly for a keyword.

When it comes to forums, I don't think there is much an SEO company can do anyway.

It's also hard to judge the company, it may be fantastic looking site, that is being run from a bedroom, and that could be good thing !

I think it's best to invest in yourself and learn. It's actually very easy once you become passionate about SEO.

Come to Webmaster Central at Google. That's where you'll get the best, honest advice about SEO and webmastering. If you need to start, I'd suggest there. I would not even think of hiring an SEO company unless you have a very good idea what they are doing for you. I have seen numerous disaster stories given the fact that every half wit who knows a little bit more than someone else has thrown up their SEO company shingle and made money off desperation.

JadeBlade! I also use google for this purpose but how you can sure that the right answer of this problem is Google. Can you elaborate it?

Unless your target audience is Redmond Campus...

What's hard to understand? Most people use Google.

I think every SEO company is good in its own way. You should focus on the work style and output quality one gets.

And what do you guys think about freelance seo specialist? Prices for their services are usually much lower than companies' ones. Or you think it's better not to save on such things?

People who started companies that are monetizing SEO are low-lifes and standarxd criminals and as such should be penalized heavily.

So, let me get this straight. I run sites for customers using a given platform. If I charge them to make said platform perform better for search engines than it currently does, I'm committing fraud?

Please explain how this works.
