I was aware of that. This thread is about a different topic.

What was not mentioned, was that they were going to cut off all XF2 discussion without warning.
No deadline.

They gave the warning in 2016 its temporary install, at least they give you the option to read it. Discussions that matter they will try to migrate to main site. If you do not agree with this why not make a thread at XF and ask the developers, but i know how it ends topic will be closed because they have said its temporary.

Troll Post.

I see the usual suspects who "blanketly" support All things Xenforo regardless of the issue, and didn't contribute much to the Demo Board have clearly shown they don't care about a site they didn't go to much. Noted.
I posted on there. And clearly you don't have a sense of humour. Also noted.

True, I never went there, and obviously never contributed...however, should we expect the developers to check with or inform everyone before each step in their plan? I can tell you from firsthand experience that having to check with people at each step of a project really slows things down, and can be extremely frustrating.

I'll admit it would have been nice for there to have been some kind of announcement in advance of the read-only status being implemented, but we live in a less than perfect world...sometimes we just have to accept things and move on.

At the end of the day, if you want the discussion to continue then start the discussion again at the XF Community. Unsurprisingly there's only been one complaint so far today on our approach on a day which should otherwise be a positive day and see much needed progression to the next milestone in XF2's development.

We did not imply that there would be any prior warning as to when it was going to be retired:
This is a temporary install

Once we're ready to move on to the next stage of XenForo 2 testing, this demo will be retired and won't be accessible.
You may note, in fact, that the original plan was to make it entirely inaccessible (as in close it) when we were ready to move on to the next stage, we haven't done that. I'm not sure why we would need to give more warning than we have.

Frankly, we have much more important things to do right now (i.e. getting to beta then to stable release) rather than having to check and moderate two different forums when there's already one, now running XF2 as well, that is more than sufficient and have a much vaster audience than the demo did.

If this has upset/offended/disappointed you in any way, then I sincerely apologise, but this is it; time to move on to the next step and if you wish to continue those discussions then you should post them again at the main XenForo Community.

Pretty sure I dont fall under "support All things Xenforo regardless of the issue".
It's a demo system, no longer relevant, and should just be removed now the beta is coming.

You seem to be the only one making a drama out of it :cautious:

I wanted to finish some bug testing and finish up some posts
As I said, I wanted to keep XF2 demo threads on XF2.

I only suggested removing Read Only for a while because I felt it wouldn't take much moderation.

As well as to discuss some of the recent changes that are happening at record pace now.

I don't understand why you would not listen to Chris D's suggestion that you post your suggestion's requests over where they might be acted on- at XF.com.

I mean, all fine and good to express your wishes here. But, nothing here is going to actually achieve what you want. Something to consider.
