Nice! And no i'm not a member of a gym, i'm blessed to have a mini gym in the garage(bench, weights etc...) I hope your gym works out and you don't have to deal with people using the equipment when you need it, or them not really using it.

I've been a gym rat for the past 2 years or so. You could work out at home but the fact is you're not going to make as much progress as you would with a gym. You just reach a point at home, unless you have barbells, bench, squat rack, etc, where you can't progress anymore. Your gym's free weights area seems kind of weak :D

I used to hit the gym regularly when I had a daytime job; now, that i've started working from home as a writer, I don't find time to hit the gym.

I plan to join a gym in the new year, cutting down on weight first by doing home exercises (HIIT Cycling, walking, power 90 etc)

If you don't have access or don't want to pay for a gym, there is plenty of exercises you can do on your own, just using your body weight.
Ex: pushups, pullups, squats, lunges, burpees, situps, curlups

Slight variations on all these exercises and really have an effect if you stik with it.

cmc87 has got the right idea.

If you don't know what to do as far as exercising on your own, there are some great DVD programs that you can buy for the cost of 2 or three months gym membership. I know you've seen the infomercials, and they do work, BUT, just like the gym, you actually have do it:)

3-4x a week. Being in better shape than most men my age has done wonders for my health... lest I take out the Belgian waffle maker.

I'm a basketball player and in college, so a gym is a must for me. I use my University's gym (I'm paying 40k a year so why not lol) and am doing pretty well so far.

Basketball takes care of cardio and I only go to the gym to lift weight. I'm more lean now but I still have a long way to go in order to look my best. I'm also trying to add inches to my vertical, I dream of dunking.

At the college I attend we have a really nice work-out facility that's included with tuition. :) I really enjoy it, and the indoor track!(I'm an avid runner).

I try to go to the gym 5-7 days a week. I love it and have been approving quite a lot in a short amount of time.

He said without anyone motivating me and hold me accountable, I will probably just give up and quit the gym after a while. He probably thought his de-motivational comments would make me think I NEED a trainer to get success BUT it had the opposite effect. It makes me want to get results on my own even more.
I think it would be interesting if theezy is satisfied so far and if he reached his goals by now. I have to say that I absolutely enjoy going to the gym since jogging in a big city is not that relaxing and besides, I have some difficulties with my joints and going to the gym seems to be the only effective alternative so far...

Usually 3-4 days a week in the gym :D. I like late night visits to the gym though, we have 3 places to squat in our gym and during peak times they fill up quick. So... late night visits gym all to myself.
