Tell you the truth - I'm in safe mode at the moment and kinda scared of opening FileZilla.

I just had the update notification enabled - so when there's an update - you get prompted to download. I *believe* the program itself actually downloads the new .exe - but basically it's the same as installing a new version - only it's billed as an update.

From experience, updates appear to come from a source that is or was free from malware. I was applying those updates for many years without issue.

FileZilla has been known to contain malware for quite a while now. It didn't always.
