I have a little avatar image that I used a lot of times all around the web.

This:

So I thought... is there a way to search for it in order to see where it is coming from? Maybe a character from a videogame? I don't know, but I'd like to know this! Is there some search engine that does this for images, as far as you know? :D

A magician never reveals his secrets right? However I'm fairly sure Adam just used Google Image Search to find it for you. Something that is often overlooked :)

haha yeah good old google images with a custom date range.......why use anything else ?, I only went back as far as 2006 but the above link was Jan 2007.................seems pretty accurate as the original source id say.

Awwww, I already knew that but I had forgotten it! It was from my superb favourite game, The NeverHood (out also as Skullmonkeys for Playstation)!
Thank you guys! :D

First time I've seen that, tested it with some images unfortunately not as good as Google images. Worth keeping an eye on though or using an additional resource.
It's only just a newer tool in the toolbox, it's hit or miss right now but its database is growing. I've found it useful but yeah, it's not 100%.
