Interesting forum concept!
How's the paywall thing working out? I couldn't see any content on your forum - so I'd be a bit leery of subscribing, without knowing what's available. It's definitely an interesting concept though. Another quick question - why are you limiting membership to only the few niches that you have? I'd think self-publishing of poetry would definitely be of interest anyway...

Whatever the case = Best of luck with it!

PoetJC Basically we already have one forum for Erotica and Romance, but a lot of our members wanted to move out into other genres, and rather than clog a single board with genres the majority don't want to specialise in we branched it out.

We have a rule about not dissing writers of other genres, so we've intentionally not included "Literary Fiction", because those guys can get snarky as **** about genre fiction. Otherwise, though, we're essentially at early evolutionary stage. If people want to branch out into more genres I'm up for that :D

Oh, yes. Sorry, I have a cold and it kept me awake all night, so I'm running on NOOO SLEEEP and forgot this halfway through my own post...

Basically we're looking at opening up a few areas soon, once we get the new members settled in, so that people can check us out and be sure we're not dead in there ;)

Oh! The snark and literary elitism... I know it well LOL.
Makes sense now.

That may be a very good idea for such a forum that's a paid one. Another thing to consider might be to open a section up for public posting. I'm sure you'll have prospective members interested in joining - but just don't know what the forum is about or what sort of content to expect. A public type of pre-membership sales section might work for your benefit. Imagine prospective members asking questions of what the community offers. It should be available to all members - but essential for unregistered members so that they know exactly what to expect for their purchase. Just an idea anyway.

I went to your site. It looks great. I agree with Poetjc, love the idea and I'd probably join if I knew more about it. I actually like the pay concept, it helps get serious writers. Anything that is free is usually not valued....If that makes sense. :)
