I believe CC information was stored in a separate database from customer information when I was admin at vB.org. The difference between begin licensed or unlicensed on official websites was based on your e-mail address.

If it was stored in a separate DB, then the hacker very well could have got ahold of it.

That's a rather unnecessary gratification since the same can be said also for Paul, Joe and Mark (when he was here). In fact, her statement is a confirmation of what was already implied by both Paul and Joe. No reply from vBulletin obviously means that they have yet to find the hole.

I find the selective bias in this forum intriguing to study. While I did play around with the three musketeers, never had I take anything from my exchange with them personally nor attempted to diminish their positive contributions here.

Yep.
The .org is the official vBulletin modifications site. It's staffed by volunteers - but it's an official IB/vB property.

To the best of my knowledge, and this is going back to like 2004~ credit cards were always processed by the merchant and we never stored any data for any long period of time (more then sending them off to do the transaction) . At least in regards to the regular purchasing.

Hard to say for sure, we don't know if it true or a scare tactic. Seen SS of just about everything else important, but no SS of the CC info.

I had a bit of a falling out of posting here when a contract of mine conflicted with my duties here as a mod. After that I pretty much stopped posting. I was a server admin for a company and they gave me admin access to a competing forum. I was upfront about it but it still got me kicked out. Was pretty grumpy over it at the time.

Zachery - I didn't think of cloud option. I'd not have considered them two different forms of payment = oops.
Can you speak tot he cc_info folder/database that was screencapped earlier?
