A bit of information about what will be happening in this forum, not many people know me here but the past years of my life have been ups and downs and one of the reasons is coping with my lifestyle. As a homosexual male in the USA life is rough even being successful with a college degree, the amount of discrimination is still all time high. This forum will be in discussion about certain situations homosexuals go through, coping mechanisms for problems and other discussions. This forum is in no way a force upon people who are not overly fond of the lifestyle but the forum will be a teaching & learning experience for young and older individuals who are in the lifestyle, who are possible behind the scenes and have no one to express themselves to. I am making this forum for people to hopefully lean from my experiences and others experiences.

your site TCT could take off huge with this whole Bruce Jenner thing. Kick some ass man!!!

fix your logo a bit, it's a little blurry with the text on the bottom. did you use photoshop? if so, switch to illustrator. it usually makes small text more crisp.

Boooo. Caitlyn is also not homosexual that I know of - she's transsexual. And there's a slight difference.. And ugh. That horrid post on Crankers shows your lack of understanding and lack of wanting to understand. I almost asked you to remove it as a personal thanks for sharing the css code - but I know that would be ridiculous LMAO. But come on dude -- Let's not be juvenile about Cailyn's penis - I mean - you probably have one.. Big f'n deal aimageup.jacquiidesigns.com_di_7BNL.gif

Ugh. I'm not exactly sure how I've never noticed that. It wasn't blurred at all in my graphics program. I'll get that edited.
IT Network -- I'd be happy to discuss your project and possibly partnering up. I'm curious to know if the partner would need to be a monetary investor. Also - what is this concept of possibly being paid for the pleasure?

PoetJC haha I gotcha!!

In opinions writing, my theory is that if you want a response from readers (a comment, social share, anything), then you have to lean very heavily on one side or the other of a topic, even if it portrays the most asinine opinion you could think of. You need to induce a bit of "omg that A-Hole did not just say that" in a reader. If you can get on their nerves, then you've got a higher chance of receiving feedback/social shares. So when I think of topics, I gotta pick the opinion that I think could generate the most nerve-wracking replies :) The only problem is that I don't really have many readers LOLOL

I should do two articles for each topic, each swinging in the different direction (no pun intended) and see which one gets more attention.

Back on topic, I think your site could do really awesome. You should consider setting up a chatroom or forum nodes for different cities - let people chat locally on it. Of course, get feedback from your users first, make sure it's something they're interested in.

I was thoroughly amused the this piece and the reactions/replies to it. I almost registered simply to make a comment of my own LOL. You do make an interesting point though - in that sort of niche - you need to be a bit sensational. The sensational opinion pieces are what gets folks talking. Have you thought of promoting or advertising via Facebook. It seems folks would eat that sort of stuff up.

Also - IT Network -- What Drastic posted above would work well for your TCT site as well as the project you're cooking up.

XF all the way.

Sold all my VB licenses for pennies just to switch to XF. There's a few chat box options, which are cool, but I wouldn't add them right away. You want all the users to make forum posts and make the site look active as much as possible. Add the chat box months later when you've got a very solid foundation, and let your members have a little voice in the development so you can provide them a nice place to visit, but still make a few bucks for yourself.

I've done some rather nice things with Xenforo and will be happy to assist you = yes.
Tonight is a bit busy - but if you have time on Skype tomorrow - we should chat about it.

There are certain schools of thought on the shoutboxes. I've always liked them. It gives users a way to a more .... intimate communication, even though it's public. The schools of thought though:
  • Don't use them. They'll take away from your forum post momentum and equal less posts..
  • Don't use them right off the bat. Sneak 'em in after your forum is busy..
  • Use them. Who cares...? Activity is activity.
I tend to have the latter mindset - only because if someone is going to post in the forums - they're going to post. If you have a shoutbox on every single page of your forum (which I did at one point), that shoutbox is NOT going to keep your user from posting when they want to post. Activity IS activity - whether or not it's happening in the shoutbox or in forum threads.

Anyway. Definitely pro-shoutbox here.
And definitely an XF fan... I'd say to IT Network - you've got some options... And I'll be happy to assist in taking them from the drawing board to live implementation. Just let me know if I can be of assistance ;)
