'Windows users too poor to buy macs'

I'm suprised casuals working in a professional setting arent adopting macs and linux en masse. Increasingly more services that were traditionally computed on your machines are now rendered within websites, so windows machines arent necessarily worth the headaches they bring unless you need them for gaming.

there was 2 computers . one running 7 and the other10

mcafee and norton unable to find the issues in chrome browser

malwarebytes found 3 issues on the 7 machine and 45 on the 10

cleaned them out

installed firefox on both machines and imported only passwords and bookmarks from chrome, edge and ie

uninstalled chrome and mcafee on both machines

updated windows on both

cleaned desk tops up and added custom backgrounds and icons with their company logos

set up yahoo email into outlook

$300 for ~4 hours

its a motorcycle shop and they changed my oil while i was there tonight too and told me i could have all my parts for 20% under retail

Mac has built in emulators for all major browsers and even screen sizes and resolutions, You can toggle between each in seconds and see what your site will look like in multiple different situations ... even phone orientation
There are websites that do this for free for you (well there used to be) every screen resolution and browser type.

You likely didn't find the root cause but merely a patch. Most likely a profile or some kind of browser search/toolbar that was installed. Uninstalling chrome doesn't always uninstall those things.

I've used chrome for years and definitely find it better than Firefox for my needs.

I use Malwarebytes too. As for computers I have a mixture of Windows & Macs, some "inherited" from family members when they went to only using their phone for the internet.

For the price a Mac costs I can build a PC that'll smoke it and still retain its value without doubt.

I've considered a Mac for design and programming but it's hard to shell out the money they cost. Windows is just to easy to get along with so I doubt I'll ever own a Mac anytime soon.

I agree i'm looking at a PC at the moment i have considered a Mac but the price is to high. Going to buy the configuration below with a 4K Samsung monitor i'm at 2000 euro maybe trough in a case but do not yet know the one i want. This PC will be in use for 4 years until i want something else.

I'd love to get an upgraded Mac, but I can't justify the cost considering the issues the new models have.

Still runnning a 2012 Macbook Pro that I got used from Gumtree when it was a year or two old. Apple replaced the battery and screen on it when it it was 5 years old for free, so that gave it a fresh lease of life to last a couple more years.

Seriously hoping they get the keyboard issue fixed by the time a larger 16"+ model comes out, then I might make the jump.

Recently built a new Windows PC for myself and although my old Macbook isn't slow, it does struggle a bit when I have it plugged into a second monitor and have lots of Chrome tabs open, including any given streaming video service. It's nice having desktop performance again.

My new build is in a Dan A4 case, which is so small it's almost like having a chunky laptop that you just have to plug into your monitors along with a normal keyboard and mouse. It just sits ontop of my desk now, I highly recommend it.

Yeah, the Fractal design is gorgeous. Decent enough value too.

The Dan A4 case is a bit expensive for the size at something silly like 250 euro, but I managed to pick one up second hand for a good price, and as long as you don't need any 3.5" HDDs it's a winner. I might get a seperate NAS and pop a few HDDs in if I need more space.

I just bought that case a couple weeks ago, only in white. I'm slowly gathering parts to build a new machine. So far, I have a EVGA 750 GS PSU, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro, 64GB Ballistix Sport LT Series DDR4 2666 MHz RAM (also in white) and a 1TB 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2. Soon I'll be ordering a Nvidia Quadro P2000 Graphics Card and the Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz CPU. I don't do gaming, so I'm building this as a workstation to develop my photography and create a few graphics I need for websites I manage.

That case is about the heaviest case I've ever had. I might need help lifting it when it's finished because the motherboard is a heavy-weight too. And the RAM sticks aren't as light as I remember (my current machine has only 32GB). This is the 3rd computer I've built since 2006 when I put together what I thought would be my last machine. Doctors told me I didn't have that much time left. I'm glad they were wrong, but, man, this can get expensive.

Nothing wrong with that build for photography the CPU is great it was my first choice but then the I9 9900k came. I would recommend M.2 for the build its much faster then SSD.

You might have missed the part where I said "1TB 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2." But I also intend to boost my 5TB data HDD with Intel Optane M.2.

Indeed misread that part, going for the 1TB myself end of the year i want 2 others maybe 3 so i have 4TB M.2. I want to do 4k editing and want fast system, plus side is that the games i play will work great.
