John Xie is the president of Cirtex Corporation. John was kind enough to spend some time on an interview with TAZ. :)

First of all John, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to be a part of this interview. To start off could you tell us a little about yourself?

No problem. Aside from running HostV, I love reading about technology and the new gadgets coming out. I'm also a big fan of world news so it's always interesting to keep up to date with what's going up and to constantly absorb new information. I'm passionate about many things whether it is technology, politics or music, but web hosting / the web is definitely one of my biggest passions.

What sparked your interest in web hosting and computers in general?

I love computers, internet and technology in general, so at an early age I decided to give programming HTML a try and from there I began managing/running few websites that required web hosting. After going through many nightmares with web hosting providers, I decided to take a risk and start my own web hosting company.

What does your typical workday entail? Is there a certain routine you go about?

There is definitely a routine to some degree so I can keep things in order and go through everything quickly such as checking emails and how the general operation is going. However I tend to try to make everyday a new/different day with small goals to accomplish as to brighten up the day and make it more productive.

What is the relationship between Cirtex Corp, Cirtex Hosting, and HostV hosting.

Cirtex Corp is the parent company where as CirtexHosting & HostV are both subsidiaries of Cirtex Corp. CirtexHosting focuses on shared/budget web hosting whereas HostV focuses on a more managed solution on dedicated and virtual dedicated servers.

Tell us about HostV hosting in some detail.

HostV offers managed virtual dedicated hosting solutions as well as dedicated servers through Virtuozzo & cPanel. All HostV Services utilize premium hardware and premium bandwidth along with priority/managed support, not to mention that all services/softwares are preinstalled whether it is ffmpeg or php5/mysql, and the support team is always standing by to assist if any additional software installations is required and so on.

What distinguishes Cirtex?HostV from other hosting companies?

We provide managed and quality service with a wide variety of softwares/services we're capable of setting up. We also use premium hardware, bandwidth and facility to house our equipment along with being backed by a very capable datacenter team.

Where do you see Cirtex going in the next 5 years?

We will definitely be expanding and possibly introducing a new variety of services & products. However we will maintain the same if not better quality of services and continue to keep our customers satisfied and happy.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time when you are not taking care of Cirtex matters?

I would be trying to get some sleep after a long day, other wise I'd probably pick up my guitar or listen to some music & surf the net.

    What are your favorite things?

Hobby wise I love music whether it is listening to music or playing music, and I have a very diverse taste when it comes to music. I'm also an avid gamer & tech geek, and of course love the servers/hardware that we get to assemble and use for HostV.

Which websites do you visit on a regular basis?

To name a few I'd say Google News/Finance, Digg, WebHostingTalk, Various tech/design blogs and of course Cirtex/HostV/Cirtexhosting :)

What advice would you give someone who is thinking about getting into the hosting field?

It'll be a lot of fun and definitely worth the effort & time put into it, but just be ready to take on the challenge because it is definitely a very time consuming business when it comes to running/managing it from all aspects and will probably require few all nighters every now and then with very little sleep :)
