wpForo 1.6 released - Threaded Forums!

Just noticed about new wpForo 1.6 version release. This version includes tons of features and improvement. wpForo becomes a new forum software with nice Threaded Layout and super improved Question and Answer Layout. So WordPress forum plugins become better and call to use them More information can be found at wpForo Community in official version summary. I'd like to discuss about Threaded Forums. This is a nice trend! Just look at the thread list of new wpForo threaded layout. This is the forum home page. Here you can see list of top level forums (categories). Under each top level forum you can see sub-forums list and the list of threads. It looks just nice and call people to join! Its easy to control and read. Also there are filter buttons and a button to create new thread.



The thread (posts and replies) page also looks nice. here you can see threaded layout in action. wpForo has a unique feature "thread breadcrumb" in top of each reply. It easy displays current depth and relation of replies. Here is the screenshot:

And the threaded forum layout is one of the built in four layouts. Here is my summery of all type of forums you can create with wpForo. Even you can mix those and create a forum with all four layouts:

1. Extended Forum Layout - Great Engagement
This is a classic forum layout with an unique feature to show one level deeper information in advance. You can see latest topics of each forum on Forum List and latest posts of each topic on Topic List. This kind of forum list is well engaging, it looks busy and allows visitors see whats going on in forums on home page. These are screenshots of home forum list, topic list and post list:


2. Simplified Layout - Modern, Clean and Compact
I think this is also a classic forum layout. Light, modern and beautiful forum layout with topic and post author avatars on forum and topic lists. This looks clean and keeps your forum compact:


3. Question and Answer Layout - Support and Ticket Board
This Q&A forum layout is a complete question and answers discussion board for professional support and for communities similar to Stack Overflow. Perfect platform for users to ask and answer questions, and, through membership and active participation, to vote up or down.


4. Threaded Layout - Great Engagement, Active Discussions and Threaded Replies
List of thread on home page under each forum category. Threaded forum layout brings totally different forum usage experience. This is a new generation of forums and communities. You can use this layout for any kind of discussions, especially for support forums, support tickets, product reviewing discussions and thread oriented forums (small number of categories and forums, even just one forum).

wpForo is a great looking script. I've seen some excellent looking wpForo boards.

kudos to the wpF team for bringing more options to the table. hopefully it brings them users & success.

It looks lot better than the BBPress and few other similar plugins. Also in terms of ready to use context, this is a good option for anyone who wants to add this to WP.
