If you compare to other services that are free, you do not get much of anything.
Need an invitation code, sadly.https://nixstats.com/login was free and pretty good in beta
https://www.pingdom.com/pricing/To ensure the best possible product experience for SolarWinds® Pingdom® users, and to focus our resources and investment on this next phase of our product development, we will no longer offer our free plans as of February 6, 2019. To continue enjoying the benefits of Pingdom, all free users will need to sign up for a paid subscription plan option by this date.
You can upgrade your plan and receive a special offer of a 50% discounted rate for a period of two years!
Starting now, you have full access to all of the Pingdom functionality through February 6, 2019. Below, you can see a number of additional features that our Starter plan offers over your current free plan.
Are such services even worth the trouble anymore for hobbyists, even at the free tier?
But does getting downtime this short reported actually matter? Unless physical servers and web services have to be restarted or managed, service would normally be restored quickly with no need for webmaster intervention.I just like to be notified if we're down. Happens a few times a year for a few minutes, without pingdom I wouldn't know it happened
Uptimerobot is great choice if you don't care '1-minute' checking interval. I suggest change to them, at least because I stayed with them already 3 years with very best monitrong tool.
