Anyone here create Java Applets?

I want to take some "screen shots" from various web-pages and figured Java may be capable of this since I know php, JavaScript, and heard "flash" can't do this either.

I was looking at the "HTMLEditorKit" class, but unsure of the capabilities. I will post if I have this resolved or not if I don't get a little answer before I do -_-
